Shockwave Therapy: Radial Pressure Wave (RPW) Therapy

Shockwave Shoulder tendonitis

Introducing Wellness Doctor's solution to CHRONIC PAIN sufferers and stubborn tendonopathies!

For the past several years, I have been searching for that "Magic Bullet" modality for treating in conjunction with Chiropractic, Graston Technique, Therapeutic Exercise Protocols, and other soft tissue modalities to further support and speed up recovery time for some of our more complicated cases. Well, I found it!

Radial Pressure Wave (RPW) is a form of Shockwave Therapy and is an impressive adjunct to the same great care one will receive at our office as well as a stand-alone therapy for stubborn muscle and tendon issues as well as for those with chronic pain.

After considering a Class 4 Laser, for quite some time, there just did not seem to be the remarkable patient and clinician testimonials that I had hoped for.

With several colleagues highly recommending this modality, and my own test drive of an FDA approved form of Shockwave Therapy, I was convinced almost immediately that this was the missing link for my Chiropractic Sports Medicine and Natural Healthcare facility.

What were the primary selling points for me on this investment? Well, there was the immediate relief I got from a 5 minute treatment on my own bicep tendonitis/osis of my left elbow which occasionally flairs up from an old wrestling hyperextension injury.

I also could not believe the claims I heard regarding ONE 4-5 minute session having an immediate reduction of pain and an impressive improvement with range of motion. Seriously? And most treatment protocols recommend only 4-6 visits at one visit every 5-7 days and for under 10 minutes per treatment. The more I researched these claims, the more I found it to be accurate!

With upwards of 3,000 clinical references and medical abstracts on PubMed regarding extracorporeal shockwave therapy, it's hard not to dive deep into this fast, effective, and non-invasive modality for my athletes, weekend warriors, and chronic pain sufferers.

We want you to live your best life!

What is Radial Shock Wave Therapy?

Radial pressure waves are pulses generated by compressed air. This compressed air drives a projectile within a cylinder, located inside the hand piece, to a shock transmitter. The kinetic energy generated byt the motion and weight of the projectile, converts into acoustic energy when the projectile hits the shock transmitter. The acoustic pulses then spread into the underlying tissue, penetrating to subcutaneous depths of up to 6 cm. The highest energy level of the pressure waves will be at the tip of the transmitter directly over the targeted tissue.

A treatment with radial pressure waves needs no additional pre examinations or treatment such as ultrasound imaging, local anethesia, MRI or X-ray. Shockwave therapy can be an excellent non-invasive treatment option for indications that normally are very difficult to treat.

If considering steroid injections, PRP, or Prolotherapy for chronic pain syndromes or tendinopathies -Shockwave Therapy may be a faster and more affordable option.
