Creating a Positive Mindset and Managing Stress

Written By Dr. Jason Kremer on April 7, 2020

Positive Mindset Bend OregonWith this whirlwind of stressors and uncertainties, I thought now would be an appropriate time to post on the importance of having a positive mindset. With businesses shutting their doors and my wife and I litterally just closing on the purchace of a new building just a few weeks ago, my patients and even my wife find it hard to believe that I can manage to stay so calm and cool. At 45 years old, I've been through A LOT in my life and only 6 years ago, I was diagnosed with an incurable form of cancer and given 3-5 years to survive. Since conventional medicine could not save me with chemo, I decided to stick to my natural guns and look for natural and less conventional ways to improve my outcome.

I'll save that story for another day. For now I would like to share with you, what I believe to be, the most powerful tool I used when it came to defeating the odds of my diagnosis which was- keeping a positive mindset. As silly as it sounds, a positive mindset is what won me several state and national wrestling championships. A positive mindset is what got me through my childhood with a mentally ill mother. A positive mindset is what got me through grad school and continues to drive my passion for learning and helping my patients.

When it comes to what our society has had to deal with the past several weeks and what is still to come, a positive mindset is what will get us through.

Through acts of joy, meditation, spirituality, yoga, exercise, having a sense of purpose, or spending time with loved ones you will be amazed by what managing your stress and changing your mental outlook can do.
